Fashion Takes Action is Canada’s premier not for profit that focuses on sustainability in the fashion industry. FTA works with designers and retailers to create solutions for a sustainable future. Designers bring their knowledge and artist skills to the classroom painting a picture of the global environmental and social context and map out the big picture of textile production, clothing manufacture, wear, and final journey to landfill or second-hand clothing market. Students in grade 4 to 12 explore the practice of deconstructing/ reconstructing garments through time and create their own up-scaled book bag in My Clothes My World.
